It has been a few years since I posted a year end review for Swimming Pool Steve. As a self employed entrepreneur there generally is not enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done. I did not intend to stop with the yearly updates and honestly did not think anyone really reads these, but in absence of posting one every year I am receiving a lot of emails from readers asking if I am still active. Mostly this comes from potential clients who are considering paying for my swimming pool consulting services and want to make sure that I (and my website www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com) is still active.
So what has been happening since my last year-end update? Quite a lot. More than I can think to update in an itemized list but in short I have spent the majority of the past few years both working on my health as well as continuing o develop the www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com website and associated youtube channel. Additionally, about two years ago, I started a second Youtube channel dedicated towards decorative concrete / concrete as a hobby. You can check out my new channel here: Creating Concrete. It has been growing very quickly, already achieving 10,000 subscribers (as compared to the 55,000 on Swimming Pool Steve). I suspect with continued effort one day the Creating Concrete channel will outgrow the Swimming Pool Steve channel even though Swimming Pool Steve is eight years older and with over 800 more videos than the current concrete channel.
New pool products for testing - Recently I have been experiencing more success in having pool equipment manufacturers agree to send me equipment for testing and review in my swimming pool test lab. It has taken quite a few years to build up to this point, but in this past year I have been able to feature one of my favorite products, the Hayward Tristar 900 in my test lab thanks to Hayward sending me some equipment to test and review. More pool product reviews in 2024 - In 2024 I expect to be able to review multiple new pool products including some sanitizing systems, AOP, automation systems and much more. This should be a banner year for content on the Swimming Pool Steve youtube channel. Pool automation systems is something in particular that I am looking forward to deep diving on. I think this is a growing area of the pool and spa industry where pool owners are wanting more information on how to incorporate this to new and existing swimming pools.
Swimming Pool Steve contracting services - In 2024 I have decided to begin local contracting services again. Now that I have my health situation more under control I am eager to renew my swimming pool contracting services. I will have to limit how much work I take on, but I hope to be able to specialize with pool equipment installations, upgrades and repairs. I am coming up on ten years working full time as my primary occupation developing the Swimming Pool Steve brand. Just last week I passed 15 million views on Youtube with the Swimming Pool Steve channel. When you stop to consider it, this is a massive amount of reach for one person to have. I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments I have made with the Swimming Pool Steve brand and I look forward to continuing to grow into my role as one of the leading voices within the pool and spa industry.
