A funny thing happened to me recently. The Washington Post reached out and asked me to comment on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation project and the green water algae situation it was experiencing. This was the first point of media contact in what would become a sustained two week process of non stop live media appearances including being on CNN four times and CNNI once also.
This put my opinions and explanations about the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in hundreds of millions of homes around the world...pretty crazy stuff for a small time niche content swimming pool youtuber! Even as of writing this update I have not seen all of the interviews that I have done, nor do I have a completed list yet with links to each. I hope to get to this soon but time is pretty hard to come by right now to be sure. Currently, all hands are "on deck" creating content around the memorial reflecting pool or peripherally related content like aquatic systems engineering and story telling, which is likely the next direction for content on my YouTube channel. I have over 1200 videos on how to take care of swimming pools and I love the idea of being able to look into and break down some of human civilizations greatest aquatic accomplishments - and failures - from a fact heavy and story telling perspective. Stay tuned to see more of this content soon. Of course for now, as of writing this, the story continues to develop about the reflecting pool. There is damage to the interior surface which needs repairs that will take place after July 4th according to official US sources. So likely there will be more updates and publicaly available information coming next month which will likely drag this story out longer. People are fatigued already from the massive amount of coverage this has had, but many are still tuned in and interested to know what went wrong and how to fix it.
